Lights on Afterschool

America will light up for the nation’s biggest rally for afterschool on October 20, 2016. Lights on Afterschool, a project of the Afterschool Alliance, calls attention to the importance of afterschool programs for America’s children, families and communities. Afterschool youth are invited to create letters, spoken word pieces, or other multimedia about issues that matter to them and present them at their community events.
ABOUT OUR PARTNER
The Afterschool Alliance grew from public awareness efforts undertaken by the Mott Foundation through an unprecedented, public-private partnership with the U.S. Department of Education to expand afterschool programs through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers afterschool program. Their mission is to engage public will to increase public and private investment in quality afterschool program initiatives at the national, state and local levels.
